By Air: O.R Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport to Vilanculos International Airport is a 2 hour. There is a boat transfer from Donna Anna Jetty to the island. The boat trip takes on average 30 minutes.
By Road:
Johannesburgto Maputo (585 km) Maputo to Vilanculos (620 km) Boat charter to Island (30 min)
Climate: The main dry season runs from April to November and during this time, daytime temperatures average at 24 degrees Celsius. The rainy season is from November to March and temperatures average at 27 degrees Celsius.
